Sex Education
EyesOpenIowa (EOI) is the only statewide organization devoted to adolescent sexual health. Founded in 1994 as the first statewide teen pregnancy prevention coalition, EOI remains home to the only statewide adolescent sexual health network of over 1,800 agencies, schools, youth-serving professionals, teens, and parents.
EOI provides high-quality comprehensive sex ed with medically-accurate and age-appropriate information on a broad range of topics, including LGBTQ+ inclusive, boundaries, consent, healthy relationships, interpersonal and sexual violence, HIV and other STIs, contraception and more. We also train educators and other youth-serving adults coast to coast, earning us a reputation as respected experts in the sexual health field.

To empower communities to provide people with comprehensive sexual health information and services to make healthy and informed decisions about sex and relationships, both now and in the future.
Our Vision:
We envision a time when all people are knowledgeable about, empowered, and prepared to take control of their own sexual health throughout their lifetimes. We envision a time when schools, parents, grandparents, and caregivers are fully and accurately educated on anatomy, reproduction, preventing pregnancy and STIs, health relationships, and consent, just as they are other topics.
